The idea

Water a courtyard garden and a few planters by soil moisture instead of a timer, using standard ½" BSP valves from a shop catalog and a small controller that fits in an IP65 box.

What Daedalus produced

Controller

PCBA with relay outputs, sensor inputs and Home Assistant integration

Assembly

Valve manifold built in the assembly builder from catalog parts

Zone plan

Four zones, pipe lengths and fittings in a garden model

Firmware

Moisture-based watering with frost protection

BOM

Device parts by MPN, garden parts by catalog code

Install guide

Step by step, from manifold to first watering run

What the red team found

Transformer too small for four valves

24 VA powers three valves at once. Fixed: zones run in sequence.

A valve that sticks open floods the garden

Fixed: maximum run time per zone and a master valve.

Pipes can freeze in winter

Fixed: drain point and a frost lock in the firmware.

Build it yourself

Change the number of zones, swap the valves for another catalog, or connect to a rain sensor. The assembly builder checks threads, coil voltage and power for you.
